Laurelin Farm is located at 2920 Route 39, Collins, NY. The name Laurelin means 'tree of golden light and knowledge'. This farm is a haven from the hectic pace of modern life and a place of learning and safety. Here respect for both rider and horse is emphasized, with a facility designed to keep horses as happy and healthy as possible.
Laurelin Farm is owned and operated by Caroline and Matt North. Caroline has owned horses for the last 22 years and has taught riding lessons for 15 years. Teaching others the joy of being with horses is a privilege and one of Caroline’s favorite things to do. Caroline’s primary background is Dressage, and she is a strong believer that the principle of harmony, (promoted in Dressage training) provides excellent training for all disciplines, from trail riding to jumping. Caroline stresses balance in all things: emotionally, physically, and mentally.
If you're looking to learn how to ride and be with horses in a way that promotes the well-being and enjoyment of BOTH horse and rider, you've come to the right place.
In 2001, she graduated from the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management. In addition she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Barn Management and was named the most Outstanding Senior of her Equestrian Class.
Caroline also works at the Stagecoach West, in Irving, NY, perhaps you’ve seen her there!
