Kids and Family Riding Lessons
Get your kids on the path of joy with horses! Caroline teaches riding lessons to children ages 7 and up. The goal of each lesson is to:
* Have fun!
* Be respectful of our equine friends.
* Develop focus and mental and physical balance for confidence.
* Self-awareness as well as compassionate awareness of other beings.
* When students are ready, they can go jumping, trail riding and explore any number of disciplines with the balanced seat riding foundation.
* Everyone learns safe ground handling, grooming and tacking up as part of the lesson.
1/2 hour, 1 hour and 1.5 hour lessons are available
Adult Riding Lessons for Regaining Confidence
Do you want to get back the saddle again and overcome past fears? Come find the spark that you felt as a child riding horses!
Caroline specializes in teaching adults a correct foundation that sets you up for success!
Using lunge line lessons, body awareness techniques, and thought provoking conversation, she will expand your horsemanship and confidence in your abilities.
You will also learn compassionate leadership and how to express your intentions, all while riding experienced Laurelin Farm horses who will keep you safe.
Harmonize Your Relationship
with Your Horse
Do you want to DEEPEN your relationship with your horse, or are you having a rough patch with your horse? Caroline teaches students on their own horses with a focus on finding harmony between you and your equine friend so you can go on those adventures you dream of!
Trailer in or have Caroline drive to you. She will evaluate you and your horse’s alignment in posture and mind.
Using targeted exercises for each horse/rider relationship, she will help you reach that ‘union’ state.
Whether you just want to go on a trail ride or compete, you will learn how to get to the next level.
Mounted Archery Lessons
Looking to try something new and different? Come experience horseback mounted archery! Whether you are a horseman that has never shot a bow and arrow before or are an experienced archer who has never been on a horse, Caroline will give you a safe introduction to this super fun sport. For folks who want a personalized mounted archery weekend, she can recommend some AirBnBs and work with you to link multiple lessons together in a weekend for a super fun vacation! Contact her before booking to ensure the best timing!
These 90 minute lessons will be split into a ground session learning instinctual shooting with a horse bow off the hand. Equipment is provided. The second part of the lesson riding a horse already acclimated to archery and learning how to balance while shooting on a moving horse. These lessons are best private or semi-private. For a group contact Caroline about an introductory clinic.
Once the basics are understood and your horsemanship is safe, Caroline will start to introduce exercises to help you understand the intricacies of this ancient martial art and equestrian sport.
So which Lesson is Right for You?
We have single longer lessons for those who want to sample and play. We have Steady Skill packages for those who want to ride ALOT and take in as much as they can and build their lifelong equestrian skills and arts; we have Peaceful lessons who want to immerse themselves in the calm that horses offer. We also have more active adventurous lessons for those who want to get ready for an epic vacation or just have a great summer experience. If you are unsure of what package to sign up for, simple contact Caroline and she will talk you through the best option. You can always do a different package once the first one is used up!
Laurelin Farm Has a Range of Fee Options for casual to committed riders. Horse lease options are also available under the Services Tab.

Lessons are slightly longer to allow for extra Intro and Horsemanship time with assistance tacking and grooming.

This 5-lesson package is great for casual students who have a limited schedule but want to explore Horsemanship with fun goals in mind.

The Perfect package for adults who need some equine peace and joy as a change of pace from the modern world. These are lessons with empathy and co-collaboration with our equine partners.
Includes 7+ Hours of Horses for $345:
2 - One Hour and 30 minutes Liberty and Lunge Lessons
1.15 minutes Core Skills Riding Lesson
2 - One Hour and 30 minutes Yoga and Horses Lesson
Must schedule all Adventure package lessons in a 2-month period. Ages 14 and up please.

This lesson includes use of bows and arrows and lesson horses. Students will learn traditional horse archery skills on the ground shooting for about 45 minutes and then get in the saddle to put riding and shooting skills to the test. $85 per person. Groups of 2 only. Ages 12 and up.

This lesson includes 45 minutes of instruction of on the mat yoga instruction immediately followed by a 45-minute riding lesson.
A great way to reap the benefits of yoga and immediately improve your Horsemanship!

$85 for 90 min.
For up to three people ages 9 and up. The Riding lesson will be tailored to each family's experience with horses. If one rider is a beginner then each rider will have a private lesson 20-30 min. long.Once all riders can safely post the trot off a lounge line and steer effectively, a group lesson will be conducted per horse availability and rider skills.
Includes: 20 min. grooming, tacking, leading session, 60 min. of riding, 10 min. cool down/clean up period
Winter Fee Schedule
From November 1st to April 30th
The below fee schedule is for off season lessons in the less the ideal weather conditions.
60 min. On Farm Riding Lesson - $45/hour, private lesson - Great for kids 9 and up and most riders. - Our most popular choice.
30 min. Private Lesson - $35, required for riders ages 7 to 9 and an option for experienced riders who can tack up and warm up their horse by themselves.
60 min. House Call Lesson (I drive to you) - $75/hour, limited to a 20 min. drive time radius from Laurelin Farm, others call for price quote.
Winter weather riding policy is this: If it’s above 25 degrees REAL FEEL temperature and not precipitating, Caroline teaches. Riding in the snow is awesome. If the wind chill is below 25 degrees and it’s raining or snowing, we reschedule.
We ride at Laurelin Farm for joy and fun, and to learn all the life lessons good horsemanship can offer!

All lessons are subject to Caroline's availability and the availability of appropriate horses. Lesson slots can fill up quickly in the Spring, so it's best to book online! Preference in scheduling will be given to those who can maintain a regular weekly lesson. All lessons must be booked online CLICK HERE. Please remember there is cancelation policy on all lessons and be aware packages have expiration dates.
Please try to be on time to your lesson or early if you can get your horse ready on your own.
All horses trailering into Laurelin Farm must be current on vaccinations and Coggins test.
Cancellation Policy: 36 hours’ notice must be given if a student cannot make a lesson. If notice is not given, a $20 cancellation fee will be applied, or the lesson will be deducted off the package that is selected.
